What does DLS do?
DLS is an education company led by experienced educators that creates adaptive online courses. DLS’s emphasis is on creating courses for the K-12 market. The DLS platform can be used in other areas such as professional development for business, military and government where training needs to emphasize learning by doing. This allows learners to demonstrate their competencies through the use of adaptive technology.
What is adaptive learning?
DLS adaptive learning creates the best possible learning experience for students by emulating the talents of great educators. This is achieved using technologies that adapt and shape teaching to the needs of the individual student. Each student is unique and their instruction should be too! The DLS educational model uses technology to observe aspects of student performance. It then responds to student interactions in real-time with immediate feedback and adjustments to instruction. DLS empowers educators by giving them rich, interactive and adaptive educational courseware that engages students, increases mastery of the subject and raises students’ success rates.
What is the DLS adaptive platform and will it work with my LMS?
The DLS adaptive platform is a proprietary suite of tools that creates rich, interactive and adaptive learning experiences. It’s an authoring tool for creating adaptive online courses, lessons or tutorials with powerful learning analytics. It provides instructors and course developers the insights they need to continuously adapt and improve instruction.
The adaptive platform is combined with Canvas, a leading learning management system (LMS), to offer educators and students a robust learning experience. If your LMS supports LTI, then the DLS platform will integrate with your teaching and learning system. Most modern LMS’s support LTI, including Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, and Desire2Learn.
What if we don’t have an LMS?
The DLS platform includes Canvas, a leading learning management system (LMS), to offer educators and students a robust learning experience.
How can the DLS platform be used?
Enroll in a DLS course – Our courses are created by subject matter experts who are experienced classroom teachers.
Customize a DLS course – You can adapt a DLS course to meet your own needs. Course modules can be rearranged or you can add your own material to existing courses or lessons.
Create a new course – If we don’t have what you need, our design team can author a course for you. Or DLS can train you to author adaptive courses of your own.
Don’t want or need an entire course? Maybe you just need an interactive and adaptive learning activity for your unit on fractions, a few short lessons to spice up that algebra curriculum, or some hands-on remediation and practice material for a tutoring program or summer school session. That’s great too! With the DLS adaptive platform, together we can develop content for just about anything you can imagine!
